  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional Toppings

  • Raspberries
  • Banana slices
  • Diced mango
  • Chopped apples
  • Almonds
  • Walnuts
  • Pecans
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Granola
  • Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Peanut butter or almond butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Dark chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Mason jar or airtight container
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl or mason jar, combine the rolled oats and chia seeds.
  2. Add the milk, Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Stir well until everything is evenly combined.
  4. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes, then stir again to prevent the chia seeds from clumping.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  6. Before serving, give the oats a good stir. If they're thicker than you'd like, add a splash of milk and mix well.
  7. Top with your favorite fruits, nuts, seeds, or granola, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Rolled oats give the best creamy texture.
  • For dairy-free overnight oats, use plant-based milk and yogurt.
  • Add crunchy toppings just before serving to keep them crisp.
  • Sweeten to taste with honey, maple syrup, or your preferred sweetener.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, making it ideal for meal prep.
