Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cups warm water
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying

  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Combine Dry Ingredients
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and nutmeg (if using).
  3. Step 2: Add Water
  4. Gradually pour in the warm water while stirring continuously until a smooth, thick batter forms.
  5. Step 3: Allow the Batter to Rise
  6. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
  7. Place in a warm location and allow the batter to rise for 45–60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  8. Step 4: Heat the Oil
  9. Pour vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or pot.
  10. Heat over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  11. Step 5: Shape the Puff Puff
  12. Using your hand or a spoon, scoop small portions of batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
  13. Step 6: Fry Until Golden Brown
  14. Cook for 4–6 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even browning on all sides.
  15. Step 7: Drain Excess Oil
  16. Remove the puff puff using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels.
  17. Step 8: Serve
